Our team is growing, and we are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Twin Cities Laboratories in Falcon Heights, MN for a Full-Time Dental Laboratory Technician Trainee. Previous experience is not necessary; we offer paid, hands-on training! The regular hours for this position are from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position: Read and interpret prescriptions and specifications received from dentist. Confirm that all items needed are present and in suitable condition. Pour positive models from impressions supplied by dentists using liquid stone mixture. Trim models with bulk and or fine trimmer. Bead and Pour impressions Base models Trim models Set bites Articulate models Pour and jig cases to be relined Make duplicate models Pushing and pulling cart of work around work area Review final work and check completely that all quality standards have been met before passing the work to the next technician Trouble shoot and problem solve, using past experience and success to gauge best steps on future cases Skills and Abilities Required: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity Detail oriented Patience for repetitive tasks Ability to work closely with others and share equally in the workload Ability to stand for extended periods of time Flexibility in dealing with varied work hours due to fluctuating workloads Minimum Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or equivalent No experience required Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used: Wet grinders Hand-pieces Coping Saws Bard Parker Knives Steamers Acetone Die-Separator Accelerator Glue Die-Hardener Lathe Physical Requirements: Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. Regularly required to sit, walk, and/or reach. Regularly required to exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions using both arms and hands grasping, gripping, pinching, lifting, and carrying. Constantly lifting and carrying 0-10 lbs. Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Ability to read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation. Ability to effectively communicate technical information. Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color.
