DEPARTMENT: Human Resources HOURS OF WORK: Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. LOCATION: City Hall 632 W 6th Avenue Example of Duties: Under the direction of the Payroll Manager the primary function of this position is to support department staff and municipal employees by ensuring the timely processing of payroll data submitted to the department. This data will include processing payroll deductions such as garnishments, union dues, parking and mileage reimbursements. Maintaining documentation and preparing entries for new hires, transfers and separations. Preparation of off cycle checks for separations, corrections and merit awards. Responsible for answering phones, responding to and distribution of emails, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Respond to requests for employment verification and other inquires from outside agencies including but not limited to state and federal agencies. Assist employees with completing required Central Payroll documentation. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / Preferences: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in human resources or payroll, administration support or similar administrative responsibilities. OR Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar discipline and three (3) years of experience in human resources or payroll, administration support or similar administrative responsibilities. OR Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or similar discipline and one (1) year of experience in human resources or payroll, administration support or similar administrative responsibilities.
