The successful Electrical Engineer for this role will be able to perform electrical engineering duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Electrical Project Manager maintaining a commitment to design and quality in a manner consistent with project expectations, responsive to the client's needs and deadlines, and consistent with our firms engineering procedures, standards and quality expectations. Electrical Engineer Qualifications & Experience Needed: Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field (preferred) Minimum of 3+ years of electrical engineering work experience preferable pertaining to electrical fire alarms, lighting control and other low voltage systems Past experience working within an architectural or engineering firm environment Currently Registered / Licensed Electrical PE or ability to obtain PE registration in the near future (preferred) Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software (preferred) Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with electrical analysis software (i.e., ETAP, Easy Power, Dapper/Captor) Knowledge of the current sustainable technologies applicable to the electrical design Must have strong communication, teamwork, and people skills Must be self-motivated, initiative taking and able to work with minimal supervision. Electrical Engineer Role and Responsibilities include: Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills for electrical designs such as lighting calculations, power distribution calculations, and generator sizing. Ability to plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate electrical engineering work. Resolves a variety of complex problems, i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult condition requirements Provides drawing for own designs and produce sketches to incorporate in drawings by drafters or other project resources Researches design options and document findings for Project Engineer. Provides information to Project Engineer for incorporation into specifications, reviews shop drawings, research code issues and ask general questions of code officials and organizes and maintain project files. Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with design standards. Keeps Project Manager informed of workload and any changes in project scope or services through ongoing communication to understand any project changes, design issues or time/budget constraints that may impact initial assignment.
