STEAKHOUE COOK II/ RENO NV 18000BB2 JOB SUMMARY:Works in a high-volume broiler position at The Steakhouse. Prepares hot entrees to specifications in an accurate and timely manner to assure guests of a quality product KEY JOB FUNCTIONS: Adjusts temperatures on all equipment. Prepares items requested by guests. Acts as expediter by coordinating functions between food prep line and service personnel. Recognizes and corrects any product discrepancies and variation in quality, standards or specifications. Recognizes different cooking oils and their cooking temperatures. Maintains sanitary procedures. Prepares food as instructed by the Lead Cooks. Picks up and delivers food from the Warehouse, Food Stores, Vegetable Prep, Bake Shop and other food outlets. Maintains proper food storage and food rotation in all working areas and walk-ins. Prepares meat to guest specifications. Creates nightly specials. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school graduate or equivalent preferred Minimum 2-3 years in a restaurant kitchen Highly experienced broiler cooks with good knowledge of steaks, temperatures, and expediting. QUALIFICATIONS: Literate and fluent in basic English. Team player with excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and a strong commitment to success Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations. Ability to use various kitchen equipment including steamers, roasters, slicers, grills and burners. PHYSICAL, MENTAL and ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to stand on feet for periods of time during a shift Mobility and dexterity skills to move large, heavy objects up to 25 pounds Auditory range must include immediate environment. Manual dexterity to include handling food and various equipment including broilers, steamers, roasters, slicers, burners and various kitchen utensils. Ability to smell and taste Ability to see and differentiate variations in color Ability to walk, stand, push/pull carts, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, Ability to tolerate variations in temperatures Positions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products.
