Thanks to the professionalism, diversity, spirit and friendliness of our people, we have locations across the U.S. The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Technical Lead, Data & Analytics. This position is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Position Purpose The Technical Lead will be involved in many different business driven initiatives spanning marketing/merchandising, finance, supply chain operations, retail operations, human resources, etc. The role oversees all solutions in the evolution of the Data and Analytics footprint. This person will be a member of the technical leadership team and leads a team developing, implementing and supporting BI Solutions. This leadership position in the Data and Analytics Group will report to the IT Senior Manager, Data and Analytics. The Technical Lead must have proven experience leading application development and technical professionals. The individual in this role will provide input on ways to improve our processes, incorporate best practices and policies. Must have strong communication skills with the ability to discuss and present information and issues across a wide variety of individuals and groups (inside and outside of IT). In addition, this individual must have a proven track record of working successfully with cross-functional teams delivering high quality and complex solutions within the IT space. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead a team of highly skilled engineers and analysts to consolidate analytics platforms. Implement futuristic solutions using Azure & Teradata data platforms. Create and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for medium to high complexity projects. Lead definition, communication and governance of the data modeling standards Lead key strategic project initiatives, develop comprehensive project plans, solution design, timelines, resource plans, communication and other pertinent documentation. Data Governance Standards, co-ordinate definition, manage storage and stewardship Participate in data architecture sessions and promote integrated systems and controlled data redundancy. Deliver the necessary forecast for the resources and funding that is needed to achieve the work plans. Accountable for the successful delivery (on-time, on-budget, w/ highest quality) of all IT programs and projects within the domain. Provide technical leadership and direction to define solutions that align to the functional and non-functional system requirements. Ensure alignment with the company's standards and procedures for project management, architecture direction, development standards, security requirements and supportability. Apply statistics and data modeling to gain actionable business insights and boost productivity and revenue Work across the IT organization to build strong relationships that foster a team spirit. Qualifications: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent 5-7 years of experience leading technical development teams 3+ years of experience working on big data platforms like Azure, Hadoop, GCP. 5+ years of experience working on analytics tools and technology like PowerBI, OBIEE, Crystal etc. 5+ years of database management experience including modeling, ETL design and development, query optimization using technologies like Oracle, Teradata, Sql Server etc. Understanding of retail functions Ability to build team and maintain positive working relationships of the team across the company Comfortable at communicating at both technical and executive level Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action Strong communication and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and influence IT professionals across the enterprise Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to interact with senior management, technical subject matter experts, and business customers are all essential in this role Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously Travel 10% How to Apply: Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume by visiting ************************************************ Diversity is fundamental at Albertsons-Safeway.
