Our client, one of the fastest growing international engineering and design firms is seeking a contractual?Transmission & Distribution Superintendent?to work in various U.S, locations.?This self-starting individual will have?Substation or Transmission experience?with high voltage duct banks, T-line and substation experience and be available for up to 100% travel.?The Transmission & Distribution Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the assigned project(s) in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project.?Plans, organizes, and supervises specific portions of construction work for an assigned area of a large construction project.?Responsible for the construction scheduling of the T&D related activities of the subcontractors to confirm the completion of contractual construction activities.?Maintains continuity of job progress and maximizes efficiencies related to the assigned area.Responsible for the oversight of the following project work activities: high voltage transmission lines, transmission line steel and wood structures, drilled piers, spread footings, grounding, environmental requirements, substation equipment, substation structures, substation electrical, and substation controls.Responsible for overall supervision of construction effort, which includes: productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, materials management, scheduling, engineering, and contractual performance of the project.Responsible for ensuring contractual subcontractor compliance on designated T&D construction related activities.Build effective client and subcontractor relationships.??Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors.Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.Authorize purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc., under supervision of Construction Manager and Project Manager.Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendation of construction methods and equipment.Responsible for overall project safety.??Reviews and audits site specific safety documentation, including Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs) on a regular basis.Complete daily field reports and take daily pictures to document construction progress.Assess future work activities and identify any concerns with work plans by utilizing subcontractor?s 3-week look ahead report.Develop a marked-up and as-built set of drawings to produce the record set documents, and answer RFIs with assistance from Assistant Project Manager or Field Engineer.Direct and manage subcontractor as necessary to comply with the established project schedule, and track and verify subcontractor progress on an installed quantity and work hour basis.Read, interpret, and understand civil, foundation, structures, environmental, routing, line, and substation drawings.Requirements:Electrical background with high voltage duct banks, T-line, and substation experience.High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 7 years construction management experience on electrical projects.Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills, and a strong safety background.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.Must be able to meet company's driving requirements.PhysicalHeavy industrial environment that includes working in adverse climates, and extensive walking with multiple levels requiring stairs, passenger use of personnel hoists, negotiating work areas under construction, climbing permanent and temporary ladders, occasional lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and bending.??Specific vision abilities required for this job includes: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The person in this position frequently communicates with clients, peers, and construction professionals, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds by ear. Must be able to safely operate motor vehicles. May at times need to access confined spaces.Occasional long hours and infrequent days off, occasional night shifts or moderate to long periods of working consecutive night?s; climbing on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work; utilization of fall protection harnesses, respirators, Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus; keyboarding/typing, ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy, ability to handle a large volume of work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
