Posting Number: Title: Physical Therapist Working Title: Physical Therapist Position Type: OTHER Classification: Ongoing Status: Either Department: Arthritis & Clinical Immunology - James Job Summary/Basic Function: The Multiple Sclerosis Center of Excellence at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is committed to providing comprehensive and compassionate medical care of the highest quality. The multidisciplinary team of medical professionals works in a coordinated fashion to offer and execute a treatment plan, promote wellness, and improve quality of life. In addition to direct patient care, the team is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge of demyelinating diseases through clinical and basic research. Over 2,500 patients are seen annually with services including neurological consultation and disease management, neuro-ophthalmology, electrophysiology, optical coherence tomography, MS-centric physical therapy, cognitive assessment, infusion services, clinical trials, spasticity management, mobility assessment, wellness education, and coordination of care. OMRF's MS Center of Excellence seeks a motivated physical therapist with special interest in neurologic rehabilitation including spasticity evaluations, wheelchair evaluations, splinting evaluations, AFO/bracing, Bioness evaluations, and vestibular rehab. Case management including disability evaluations and referrals to other PT specialties (i.e. women's health, manual spine treatment). EDSS, MSFC, SMDT and other exams/evaluations as required by pharmaceutical companies for commercial treatment and clinical trials. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Licensed Physical Therapist by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision. Current CPR certification. Must have excellent oral and written communication, patient service, and organizational skills. Must be collaborative and team oriented as well as have strong initiative to operate well independently. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain highest standards of ethical behavior and operate professionally in stressful and difficult situations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills required. Minimum Degree Required: Masters Degree Work Hours: Typically Monday through Friday, between 8:30am to 5pm. No on-call hours. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist, Experience with MS and/or other systemic autoimmune disease patients. Physical Demands Regularly required to move about the clinic/work area, talk, hear, use manual dexterity, and reach with arms and hand; occasionally sits; will be required to assist patients with ambulation/ transfers/etc. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
