Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAccounting/HR Manager PalliaTech, Inc. is a rapidly expanding, multi-state medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. The Staff Accountant/ Human Resources Associate will collaborate with the President, NV and the management team and develop, implement, and document accounting and human resources practices, policies, and strategies. The Staff Accountant/ Human Resources role is an exempt level position reporting to the President, NV and will work closely with PalliaTech’s EVP, Finance and SVP, Human Resources. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Staff Accountant
  • Process all accounts payables invoices, and record sales revenue in accounting system on a daily basis.
  • Investigate all deposit and accounts payable invoice discrepancies, as well as any general ledger discrepancies.
  • Process and maintain all payroll hours for the semi-monthly payroll cycle.
  • Provide month end financial reports to President, NV and Vice President of Finance which includes: Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, bank reconciliations, month end closing journal entries, accrual and sales reports.
  • File sales tax returns monthly for the facility
  • Maintain all vendor files, w-9 tax documents.
  • Assume responsibility for semi-monthly accounts payables run.
  • Provide financial reports on a on needed or as requested basis to management. Human Resources
    • Assist President, NV in developing, administering and maintaining human resources policies, plans and procedures for all company personnel.
    • Implement and communicate local HR programs and Palliatech corporate HR programs
    • Prepare offer letters and new employee files, utilizing BambooHR
    • Responsible for resolving day to day employee benefits administration issues.
    • Assist finance with bi-weekly payroll processing and personal time off tracking procedures using BambooHR, in accordance with company policies and ensuring all pay changes are approved by appropriate leaders.
    • Handles employee relations issues and counseling as needed
    • Collaborate with the President and PalliaTech SVP, Human Resources in reviewing salaries, writing appraisals, and disciplinary actions when required.
    • Assist with and monitor the performance evaluation program for all employees of the company
    • Coordinate with finance department to administer compensation and benefits changes through BambooHR, payroll and benefits broker
    • Performs benefits administration and communicates benefits information to employees, and coordinates with benefits broker
    • Assists with employee training and development efforts
    • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and personnel records
    • Coordinate the renewals of the employees’ annual state registry cards which happens every year end. This ensures compliance w/ state regs and ensures everyone's card is up to date and coordination of that happens seamlessly.
    • Ensure all HR required postings are kept up to date in the facility.
    • Track part time employees’ hours to comply with NV benefits eligibility laws Recruitment & Onboarding
      • Help Department managers with recruiting for all PalliaTech open positions
      • Develop workforce strategies to recruit and develop qualified candidates. Post job ads and organize resumes and job applications.
      • Schedule job interviews and assist in the interview process
      • Help with the hiring and on boarding process including collect employment and tax information and documents through BambooHR.
      • Ensure background, verification and reference checks are completed
      • Participate in on-boarding of new employees to the organization
      • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation/enrollment Record Maintenance
        • Maintain current HR files and databases in BambooHR
        • Maintain records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
        • Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
          • Bachelor’s degree minimum
          • Minimum of 3-5+ years’ experience in accounting for manufacturing
          • Experience with inventory, budgeting and forecasting
          • Strong customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication
          • Innate desire to achieve success and a work ethic to match
          • Ability to critically think and problem solve without direction
