Location:Danbury, CT
Salary Range:$100,000 to $135,000/yr. base salary (bonus eligible, relocation assistance available)

Minimum Requirements:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering minimum; 7+ years of post-college, industry experience is required. Candidates should have experience with complete design, installation, startup and optimization of projects over $100k. Candidates they would consider could be Project Engineers, Process Engineers or Process Development Engineers with experience designing and installing equipment. They would like people out of high-purity specialty chemicals, batch chemicals and/or continuous chemicals with a knowledge of as many of the following unit operations as possible: reaction (ideally batch), distillation, centrifugation, odor control units, filtration, and plant instrumentation. An ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in modifying and testing plant equipment, writing operating procedures as well as maintaining and developing engineering drawings and data bases.

Job Description:
Our client is a rapidly-growing mid-size specialty chemical manufacturer and is looking for a mid to senior level engineer. This person will be the plant lead engineer and will be assigned a portfolio of projects to work on (projects will be in the $50K to $1MM range), which would include plant expansions, retrofits, and new product introductions. Project work will include process design, specifying of materials and equipment, and the startup and optimization of these units. This person will maintain engineering data bases, update schematics, and will maintain the building mechanical and electrical systems. This company is currently in the midst of expanding this production facility and moving administrative personnel to their nearby corporate offices. The products this company makes are small-batch, high-purity, specialty chemicals and they do some toll processing as well. They employ approximately 100 people at this facility including about 30 chemists who are in the lab and operate the plant equipment.
