The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Arnold
School of Public Health (ASPH) at the University of South Carolina
(USC) invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track position
in Biostatistics at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
Candidates with research expertise in multivariate analysis,
high-dimensional data analysis, robust and nonparametric
statistics, multilevel modeling, Bayesian modeling and survival
analysis with applications in epidemiology, public health, biology,
genetics, and precision medicine are particularly encouraged to
apply. However, candidates from all areas of statistics will be
considered.

The successful applicant will have an earned doctoral degree in
biostatistics, statistics or related areas with demonstrated
evidence of high-quality scholarly research in developing
statistical methods. For the rank of Assistant Professor,
candidates should demonstrate the potential to successfully compete
for external research funding, and ability to teach graduate-level
courses. For the rank of Associate Professor, applicants must have
a successful track record of competitive external funding in
support of research, and appropriate teaching experience. The
successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active
methodological research program, engage in multidisciplinary
collaborative research, teach biostatistics courses to students in
biostatistics, epidemiology and other fields, mentor graduate
students, and contribute to the department and school through
