Duties: Develops, schedules, and executes load tests using HP LoadRunner, Splunk, Dynatrace, and SiteScope to monitor system metrics and debug issues. Uses Virtual User Generator (VuGen) and SOASTA to generate Vuser scripts for Web (http/html), Web services, Mobile (http/html), Citrix/Ica, and Java protocols. Implements CI/CD performance engineering/architecture using Jenkins and SOASTA. Primary Responsibilities: • Documents and defines requirements and creates scripts. • Defines performance and capacity planning goals based on the client requirements and inputs. • Triages defects with development partners and project management teams. • Works with application architects to identify performance bottlenecks and make tuning recommendations. • Ensures timely escalation of critical issues to the development, project, and performance engineering teams, including director level management. • Works with management to estimate and forecast effort required for future development projects. • Recommends changes to new and existing systems design to achieve requirements. • Monitors documentation standards and best practices. • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope, and works on multiple projects concurrently. • Communicates project plan information, objectives, and deliverables to the team. • Works on complex assignments and on multiple phases of a project. • Assists in defining analysis strategy for triaging defects and performance characterization. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience performing capacity planning of cloud and physical servers within a UNIX/Linux environment; Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience performing capacity planning of cloud and physical servers within a UNIX/Linux environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in DevOps engineering practices, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Jenkins and SOASTA; DE providing detailed software and hardware performance benchmarking of Web, Web services, and Mobile applications, using HP LoadRunner and SOASTA; and performing capacity analysis using Splunk and Dynatrace for senior management; DE performing UNIX/Linux systems administration, including configuring, monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining systems hardware and software; DE writing code in C/C++ and Java to create and maintain scripts.
