LIGHTING PROJECT Department Manager
The Lighting Project Department Manager will develop quotations, bids and buys. Ultimately, he/she must exhibit business savvy and relationship building skills in order to help elevate Leff Electric to the next level. The Lighting Project Department Manager will work closely with the outside sales organization as well as other functions including the Director of Sales, Supply Chain Manager, Director of Operations, and Credit & Factory Leads. Establish and maintain superior customer and vendor relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
Manage lighting projects from all aspects of the job - from buy' negotiations to the completion of the project.
Submittals, Project set-up and registration
Expediting and Scheduling with estimator and field supervisor
Warehouse interaction with material for stored projects
Tracking Reports - accurately and timely for customer
troubleshooting and Coordination with customer/vendor when required.
Project Audits and Credit/Top Limit Reconciliation
Determines an equitable profit level to build into each negotiated project with manager and outside salesperson.
Evaluates percentage of gross return on project.
Manages and directs the daily operation of the department in accordance with all established policies and procedures.
Conducts regular reviews to share information and distributes reports to management
Contacts and negotiates with vendors for special terms and pricing for supplies and material regarding quoted projects
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with various vendor representatives.
Communicates with outside salesperson regarding lighting projects to maximize the company's profitability.
Provides accurate, timely information to management regarding customer needs.
Participates in the marketing efforts regarding projects.
Addresses all customer complaints and or inquiries promptly so as to assure equitable resolution and to maximize customer satisfaction.
Projects a positive and professional image of Leff Electric in all communications with customers, vendors and factory representatives.
Interfaces with Leff Electric salesmen, customers, project managers, field personnel, warehouse and accounting on all projects.
Set hours are established for each working day at time of hire.
As an exempt employee, Project Managers may be required to stay over to complete a project or to meet a deadline.
Every project manager and quotation specialist in the lighting department is expected to work together as a Team, and to back each other up and help out when needed.
Employee to have a thorough knowledge of the Leff Electric organization, structure, policies and procedures. Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally and in writing with customers, suppliers and vendors. Strong math and analytical skills required. Basic skill and working knowledge of personal computers; Outlook, Word, Excel, Sales/Order Entry Software.
Employee is required to participate in ongoing educational courses as directed by Leff Electric relevant to their position.
