Full-time, 230-day contract position. Prepare and deliver high-quality day, evening, weekend, satellite, and/or online courses in the Biology areas. Manage the successful operation of the department including managing student enrollment and growth.

Responsible for scheduling classes, setting goals and objectives, budget preparation and administration, curriculum and program development, program review, student learning outcome assessment, academic advising, faculty staffing, supervision, and evaluation.

Provide leadership, motivation, orientation, mentoring, and direction to faculty and staff. Facilitate department meetings and support quality improvement in the department, division, and College. Develop and facilitate traditional and online course development, research and develop potential certificate and program offerings, participate on division and college committees, pursue and support professional development opportunities, market programs, develop articulations with other colleges, and other duties as assigned by the Dean.

Requires a Master's degree in Biology or related life science discipline which would allow for teaching courses within the Biology department.

Requires a minimum of three years experience as a Full time faculty member in a college science department. Must have required credentials to be able to teach courses in a discipline within the Biology department.

Requires an understanding of current trends and research regarding student success.

Requires excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team-focused and student-centered environment; ability to utilize technology to enhance learning and communication; and supervisory/managerial experience including budget preparation/administration.
