Our Exciting Work EnvironmentThis position will be located at Target Field, the Minnesota Twins stadium in Minneapolis, MN, home to the MLB American League Minnesota Twins. Sportservice currently has the full service contract for this 40,000+-seat state of the art facility, which includes concessions, premium services, catering and retail. The OpportunityPosition Summary Under the direction of supervisor, prepares and serves hot and/or cold food items, in accordance with the Company's Guest Service Standards and applicable Operational Standards. Essential Functions:
    \t
  • \t\tPrepares food to specifications before and during unit operations.\t
  • \t\tProperly measures and portions all food items.\t
  • \t\tComplies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures.\t
  • \t\tCooks all food to proper specifications in a timely manner.\t
  • \t\tUtilizes kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as: knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.\t
  • \t\tEnsures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.\t
  • \t\tEnsures freshness and quality of all menu items.\t
  • \t\tPackages all products to proper specifications.\t
  • \t\tPerforms opening, closing and side work duties as instructed and according proper guidelines.\t
  • \t\tKeeps workstation and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.\t
  • \t\tFollows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.\t
  • \t\tSets up and operates kitchen equipment\t
  • \t\tUses waste control guidelines and records all waste on spoilage sheet.\t
  • \t\tPerforms other duties assigned(Insert unit-specifications below, if applicable)Non-essential Functions:

    • \t\tCompletes end of day inventory and other opening/closing duties in accordance with company checklists and procedures Education & Experience:
        \t
      • \t\tHigh school education is desired; participation/enrollment in culinary program a plus\t
      • \t\tMinimum of 6 months- 1 year previous experience in back-of-the-house foodservice position preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
          \t
        • \t\tAbility to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.\t
        • \t\tPleasant and friendly; ability to adhere to Guest Service Standards\t
        • \t\tAbility to communicate with others\t
        • \t\tAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\t
        • \t\tAttentive and detailed oriented.\t
        • \t\tCapable of following procedures and taking directions.\t
        • \t\tBasic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportionsPhysical Requirements:
            \t
          • \t\tManual dexterity sufficient to chop, mix, blend, whip etc. a variety of foods and liquids. \t
          • \t\tAbility to lift and carry large pans from ovens or freezers, weighing up to 50 lbs.\t
          • \t\tAbility to handle or operate dangerous kitchen equipment.\t
          • \t\tAbility to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders.Standing and walking for entire length of shift.\t
          • \t\tFrequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting.\t
          • \t\tPushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and broomsEnvironmental Working Conditions:

            • \t\tKitchen environment – noise levels may be moderate to high\t
            • \t\tWorks frequently in a hot and damp environment.\t
            • \t\tIn contact with sharp knives, slicers, boiling liquids, hot pans, etc.\t
            • \t\tHazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass, metal cans, scalds and burns, slipping and tripping.\t
