Job OverviewWEHCO Media is looking for an Analytics Manager to join our company, grow our data processes, and expand our team responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling and analysis. The ideal candidate will be comfortable identifying solutions within myriad data sets and have a natural business mindset that enables them to translate insights that can be used for strategic decision-making. The Analytics Manager will work closely among a variety of our teams, mainly: marketing, development, product and editorial. This position will ensure these departments' business endeavors are data-supported, that they are successful in understanding project performance, and that they accurately report the many KPIs that inform them. Key Responsibilities* Lead cross-department projects and own data analysis to uncover insights that will both guide decisions and shine light on optimization opportunities.* Construct, develop and maintain our data funnels, reporting systems, data-automation systems and our extensive performance dashboards that support key business decisions.* Design and build technical processes to address business issues.* Recruit, train, develop and supervise analytics staff.* Own the optimization and proces for data ingestion, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication of deliverables.* Organize, log and oversee all data/report requests; tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.* Identify and implement quality controls and standards to achieve understood standards, organizational expectations, and to meet regulatory requirements.* Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to leadership and stakeholders both within and outside our company.QualificationsEDUCATION:-- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.EXPERIENCE:-- Minimum of five (5) years prior experience in digital analytics marketing and design, preferably with subscriber sales for local media. A combination of education and experience could be used in lieu of education and/or experience. BACKGROUND:* Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, collecting data from multiple data systems both locally and cloud-based.* Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.* Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to company growth efforts, increasing subscription products, revenue and other important business goals.* Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities.* Clear ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people and projects simultaneously.* Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.* Special consideration given to individuals with a Publishing background.The right candidate will also be proficient and experienced with the following tools/programs:* Experience with data management platforms (DMP) and customer data platforms (CDP)* Strong programming skills with querying languages: SLQ, SAS, etc.* Experience with big data tools: Big Query, Data Studio, Teradata, Aster, Hadoop, etc.* Experience with testing tools such as Adobe Test & Target* Experience with data visualization tools: Data Studio, Tableau, Raw, chart.js, etc.* Experience with Google Analytics or other analytics toolsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* Lifting up to 40 pounds from a level of 0 inches to a level of 36 inches* Sitting up to 8 hours per day* Walking from one hour to 8 hours per day on a variety of surfaces* Standing from one hour to 4 hours per day on a variety of surfaces* Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders is required* Carrying up to 35 pounds up to 10 feet up to 5 times per day* Pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds* Twisting, kneeling and bending movements are required* Finger and wrist dexterity is requiredENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:* Position may be exposed to loud noises.* Position is routinely exposed to computer glare (VDT).* Position requires travel, including during inclement weather.ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION:-- This position reports to the Director of Marketing Technology.NOTE: THIS LIST OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION IS NOT EXHAUSTIVE AND MAY BE SUPPLEMENTED AS NECESSARY.
