Description
The Manager of Environment of Care and Safety (ECS) is 1) Responsible for the Environment of Care and Safety for the CHRISTUS-Ochsner hospital and 2) Acts as a consultant for the CHRISTUS-Ochsner SWLA Environment of Care and Safety Program (EOC & SP) at the campuses of St. Patrick Hospital and Lake Area Hospital, as needed. This position provides leadership and consultant oversight of the Physical Environment program in order to maintain a safe environemnt for patients, visitors, and personnel for hospitals in CHRISTUS-Ochsner Health SWLA under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer in collaboration with VP, of Quality, Safety and Reliability. This position also provides active support during emergency conditions.





Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent level of education
Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS and other laws/regulations, Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) highly preferred
Specialized knowledge of building systems, utility systems, and fire protection systems (smoke detection and sprinklers) desired
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products, strong writing skills and multi-project management skills required
Minimum 5 years experience with Hospital Environment of Care and Safety
Managerial experience required
Experience in leading multi-facility EOC and Safety initiatives preferred
Current certifications and/or licenses registration in a field related to plant, technology, and safety management (i.e., Certified Health Care Facilities Management (CHFM) or Certified Health Care Safety Professional (CHSP)
