The eScreen Quality Assurance Automation Engineer I is a QA professional who contributes his/her expertise and practice of quality assurance along with manual and automated testing to high performing Agile teams. The QA Automation Engineer I helps build and evolve an automation framework, along with helping others develop automation skills and knowledge. This role typically will have at least three (3) years of testing experience utilizing recognized testing methodologies and practices, and two (2) years of experience providing automated testing solutions beyond record and playback. As an important member of an Agile environment, the QA Automation Engineer I is expected to cultivate, grow, and maintain core principals including, but not limited to, continuous improvement, self-organization, adaptive planning, and value driven development, using methodologies and frameworks such as LEAN, SCRUM, and KANBAN. Additionally, you will possess a growth-mindset, be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and possess the ability to deal with ambiguity; applicants must also demonstrate an aptitude for team communication and collaboration. This role is an individual contributor to both quality control (testing) and quality assurance (process and prevention). A QA Automation Engineer I is also expected to understand and exhibit the importance of adhering to regulations (i.e. SOX, FDA, HIPAA, PCI, etc.) and is responsible for contributing to regulatory compliance. Assist team members on automation and quality assurance practices and methodologies Create/Execute manual test cases and/or automated test scripts and resolve script errors Create and maintain automated test scripts for end-to-end, functional, regression, and API tests Work independently with light to limited reliance on a more senior team member. Assist the continued improvement of the test automation suite through direct contribution and collaboration Peer review automated and manual test cases Apply test methodology, as well as business process and application knowledge, in the design of tests and testing strategies/approaches Clearly and succinctly speak to, and incorporate, testing methodologies, principles, and techniques REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required Typically, at least 3+ years of related work experience is required Typically, 3+ years of strong hands-on QA experience with web applications, services and APIs preferably developed using SQL Server, Windows Server, Visual Studio .NET, , HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, React, Angular, C#. Typically, 2+ years of experience in database testing with the ability to read, write, and execute complex SQL queries Typically, 2+ years of experience with automation testing using tools and frameworks like NUnit, Katalon, UFT, or Selenium Typically, 2+ years of experience testing web services, web APIs, Databases, Authentication, web server configuration Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Typically, proficiency with web services, web sites, database, network connectivity and authentication, SQL Server, configuration, and debugging Certification by an industry-recognized testing and quality assurance entity is a requirement for this position. If a certification has not already been obtained, one must be obtained within three (3) years of starting the position. Examples of accepted certifications are: ISTQB: Certified Tester-Foundation Level or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or similar source code and project management suite is preferred Willingness to assume a testing or technical lead role Willingness to mentor, coach, and train testers across scrum teams COMPETENCIES: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organization and documentation Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and cooperate and collaborate in achieving team objectives Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships within a business setting About Abbott.
