Responsibilities In this position you will work within multi-disciplinary teams to architect and evaluate robust next-generation weapon system concepts for the war fighter, including (but not limited to) advanced strategic weapon systems and enabling guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) subsystem technology. This is a highly visible position working with Draper's Strategic Programs office, where you will regularly interface with senior staff at customer organizations providing expertise on all aspects of electronic hardware, sensors, and system hardening for hostile and natural space radiation environments. Qualifications * BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics and 10+ years of experience in the design and development of Analog Mixed-Signal, Power Regulation, and/or High-Speed Digital circuitry. * 5+ years of direct experience with component selection and design of electronic hardware for space and/or hostile radiation environments. * Understanding of radiation effects on space vehicle sensors (accels, gyros, seekers, FPAs etc.) * Understanding of radiation effects on electronics including Single-Event Effects (SEE), Total Ionizing Dose (TID), Displacement Damage (DD), and Prompt Dose (PD). * Knowledge of circuit and system level techniques for survivability and mitigation of radiation effects including Circumvention & Recovery along with power system design. * Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex technical ideas. * Ability to perform circuit simulation using Spice or variants and system modeling and analysis using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools. Preferred Qualifications : * MS degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics. * Previous experience working for Defense/Aerospace companies. * Knowledge of IC Radiation-Hardened By Design (RHBD) techniques and the impact of IC technology scaling and process on radiation susceptibility. * Radiation test experience for SEE, TID, DD, and/or TREE * Previous experience in design for harsh physical and electromagnetic environments as embodied in military standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, etc. * Understanding of system grounding/shielding, EMI mitigation techniques, and design considerations for EMP survivability. Security Clearance Required : Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance required. Top Secret clearance preferred. Travel Required : 80% travel, predominantly to Washington DC.
