Golder has a new opportunity for a Senior Project Estimator to join our Construction team on a contract basis based in Parrish, Alabama. Responsibilities of the role will include : - Development and analysis of options for means and methods of construction. - Preparation of construction schedules using precedence network scheduling methods. - Client and Sub-Contractor relations management. - Bid-stage review of construction agreements and coordination with in-house legal counsel to negotiate acceptable terms. - Preparation of complete cost proposals for both internal and external clients. - Review of proposals and estimates prepared by other Project and Construction Managers. - Application of the Golder risk management procedures and protocols for all cost estimates, subcontracts and client contracts and proposals prepared in the operation. - Preparation of cost estimates using estimating software (ie: HCSS HeavyBid) - Review of contractual agreements, terms and conditions for subcontracts, major supply agreements and client contracts. - Application of Golder's ISO 9001:2000 and GAIMS Quality Assurance program at the project level. Required: - Minimum: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, quantity surveying or related discipline. - A minimum of 6 years of experience in civil / mining / environmental estimating related disciplines. - Experience in construction estimating, scheduling, cost control and contract management - Knowledge of construction safety laws and regulations in applicable jurisdictions and terms and conditions of contracts - Proficient oral and written skills. Desired: - Strong organizational skills to adhere to project timelines and competing demands. Able to prioritize, multi-task and manage increasing demands with supervision. - Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative and good judgement.
