Communications Manager Position Summary: The Communications Manager is responsible for setting and guiding CommunityWorks (CW) communications strategy, and implementing an annual communications and marketing plan. She / he leads CW's day to day communications, marketing and PR activities to increase the visibility of the organization s brand, mission, and work throughout South Carolina. The Communications Manager leads the development of all branding, messaging, and collateral, and the planning and implementation of major events, to advance CW s mission. Responsible for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed, and ensuring deeper and consistent messaging across all CW communications channels, to build CW s financial resources and impact. T Communications Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and driven to succeed. The ideal candidate will have marketing and communications experience within a community development organization, a financial organization or a government entity. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES Marketing and Communications:Initiate and oversee the developme distribution, and maintenance of all marketing collateral targeted to supporters and borrowers, including newsletters, program brochures, flyers, branded collateral, and project specific materials. Oversee all online marketing platforms including website, blog, social media, and Constant Contact. PR/Advertising: Prioritize media opportunities and prepare talk points, speeches, presentations, and other supporting material as needed. Serve as lead point person on media interactions that help promote and/or impact the organization. Manage all media campaigns, develop and maintain relationships with media contacts, and manage communications with reporters. Lending: Increase loan capital and potential borrower pool by cr simplified and targeted messaging to attract new borrowers, investors from across the state. Attract new borrowers by developing and implementing all paid advertising efforts including digital and print advertising campaigns, and the Google Ad grant. Programmatic Marketing/PR:Support ongoing programs by overseeing development of event marketing collateral and materials that accurately reflect CW s brand, and ensuring adequate coverage including media, photography, videography, and stories. Assessment and Knowledge Sharing:Monitor and measure the impact outreach and marketing efforts against organization and communications goals and ensure CW staff, board, and supporters can communicate effectively about our mission and work to a variety of audiences. Responsible for the visioning, development, and distribution of the organization s major reports. Plan the organization s Excellence in Entrepreneurship event and manage all aspects the event including logistics, marketing, registration, programming, and relationships with consultants, vendors, event committee, etc. Advocacy and Policy Change:Support organization s advocacy helping to put messaging and processes in place for communicating advocacy priorities and engaging key policy makers in CW s mission. Development:Work with the Resource Development Committee on the cultivation of sponsors and donors for specific event initiatives. Lead the development of event branding, messaging, and systems that advance the organization s donations and community investors. Finance:Set communications department annual goals, budget, and that department operates within budget throughout the year.
