Together we create and sustain Corning's manufacturing as a differential advantage.Provide automation equipment development and engineering specialties to projects across all Corning businessDirects vendors in the construction of prototype and production equipment.-- Perform tests and evaluates data and makes preliminary recommendations regarding equipment performance.Communicates ideas and project status clearly and professionally through graphic and written media and oral presentations.Provides necessary documentation of activities, results and assignments.Serves as a technical coach for peers / customers as requiredWith only general guidance and support, develops a concept process equipment design and detail mechanism.Required Skills:Major in engineering department with BS or above degree- Mechanical, Aeronautic relatedGood commanding on equipment design and integrationGood understanding of robotics and proficient in robot programming and simulation (Fanuc series is preferred)PLC programming experience for automation equipmentDetail oriented and able to perform with limited supervisionEffective, high quality oral and written communication skillswith EnglishProactive, independent, flexible, quick learnerExcellent computer skills (working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office)Customer oriented; meets customer needs with quality resultsAbility to build effective working relationships with othersAbility to manage multiple priorities tasksAbility to contribute to the development of othersResponsible for the accuracy of work performed; takes a proactive approach to ensure quality of work.--Desired Skills:> 2+ years in mechanical/equipment design field and engineering analysis experience> 2+ years in commercial robot programming and simulation would be a plus> 2+ years with CAD/CAM capability especially for CNC application would be a plusFamiliar with industrial safety standardExperience on automation equipment design and integration such as material handling, CNC for finishing, conveyor, facility Automation, CCD integration.Familiar with commercial standard parts include mechanical and sensing components application and selection.Familiar with IT tolerance, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Mechanical components.Familiar with manufacturing method- Milling, Turning, Grinding, Sheet metal, etcFamiliar with solid modeling will be a plus (Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor, etc)--Soft Skills:Excellent verbal & written skillsDesire to work in a team based environmentCustomer-focusedAchievement oriented, Team playerPlanning and Organizing, Relationship BuildingProblem Solving and Decision MakingAbility to create 3D concepts of process/facility areas
