Position SummaryThe Microsoft Dynamics CRM Developer works within the Information Technology Services (ITS) department to document, develop, test, implement, and maintain secure, scalable enterprise applications. Troubleshoots problems and issues with an eye for identifying areas of improvement. Assists with creating and maintaining a customer-service oriented department responsive to the changing needs of ACE business stakeholders and other higher education organizations that utilize ACE IT services. Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks under general supervision. Following is a breakdown of estimated time spent on activities:Provide enterprise solution development through the implementation of custom and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. Heavy emphasis on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Power Platform products.Assist with ITS operational activities, such as providing Tier 2 support to Service Center requestsUpgrade professional skills, certification levels, and/or competenciesEssential Job Duties or TasksDocument, develop, test, implement, maintain, and optimize secure, scalable n-tier custom, COTS, and SaaS solutions using ACE's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and industry best practicesLearn and become strongly proficient in newly identified solutions, technologies, and business processes that meet current and projected business goalsCreate and maintain technical design and system documentation according to established standards, such as code and process documentation, ERDs, operations manuals, etc.Assist project teams in performing business analysis to document business requirements and technical specifications, creating proofs-of-concept as directed, and providing accurate level of effort (LOE) estimates; assist project managers in defining specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely milestones; articulate trade-offs of differing development approaches; and be accountable for completing work by established deadlinesCollaborate with business users and team members to provide operational support to new and legacy enterprise solutions, correct defects, and conduct unit/functional testingIdentify opportunities to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce costs for assigned enterprise solutionsCommunicate timely status updates (verbal and written) to team members and managementMaintain general knowledge of all ITS-managed enterprise solutions and professional skills, certifications, and competencies necessary for the positionPerform other duties as assignedEducation/Experience/Specialized Knowledge and Competency RequirementsCandidates must have the following:Educational Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, information technology, or other appropriate disciplineTechnical Hands-on experience developing and maintaining complex, secure, stable enterprise solutions using a variety of technologies across a variety of vendors for a diverse set of business purposes. Experience should include:Required: Minimum of two (2) total years' experience Microsoft Dynamics CRM developer experiencePreferred: Minimum of five (5) total years' experience:C#/ASP.NETJavaScriptWeb servicesSource ControlHTMLCSSPreferred: Minimum of three (3) total years' experience:Working within an SDLC, leveraging standardized technology frameworks, configuration management processes, etc.Preferred: Minimum of two (2) total years' experience:SQL ServerOther hands-on experienceData migration (e.g. SSIS, Scribe, etc.)SharePoint, a plusDemonstrated ability to learn new technologies and frameworksAbility to create functional proofs-of-concept of enterprise solution components as directed for new ideas for increased efficiency or new business opportunitiesExperience creating technical design and system documentation, such as code and process documentation, ERDs, context diagrams, etc.Experience creating complex enterprise solutions adhering to user interface design, usability, privacy, security, and accessibility best practicesProfessional Skills Excellent oral/written communications, analytical, organizational, teamwork, and interpersonal skills across diverse populationsExcellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutionsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentOutstanding level of professionalism, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy***Please note that the American Council on Education is currently in a remote status, and the interview process will be conducted remotely.
