Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team to help assure the most appropriate treatment of patients. Works to develop and promote the programs and objectives of the department.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Must be independently licensed (LCSW) to practice in the State of Idaho. Three to five years of experience in a mental health setting required. Knowledge in the fields of group therapy, crisis intervention, brief therapy techniques, family and couples therapy, creative expressive therapies, child development, risk assessment, and DSM V development.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Meets Health System's Core Values and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations. Provides clinical supervision of inpatient and outpatient counselors and recreation therapy. Participates in and facilitates staff meetings. Communicates and collaborates with Manager regarding issues and concerns. Facilitates in-service and training opportunities. Assists with HR functions (including staff evaluations) as needed. Provides input on staff scheduling and coverage. Mentors students during internships. Participates in community meetings as needed. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Child, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric as applicable). Conduct initial evaluation of patients and communicate assessment information to physicians, APPs and nursing staff. Ability to clearly document at each visit objectives, measurable goals and progress toward goals and identify the expectations of brief counseling with patients Ability to recognize when patient has achieved maximum benefit from therapy and professionally terminate care when patient is not progressing toward goals despite any needed treatment plan modifications or when patient has reached their goals. Counsel patients and families regarding recommended levels of care, community resources and financial arrangements. Able and willing to work some evening hours.
