Position Summary: The Natural Science Division at UAA is accepting applications for the following Adjunct Faculty: Biology - Chemistry - Geology - Physics / Astronomy. The Natural Sciences Division at the University of Alaska Anchorage offers a broad-based selection of courses and programs for students who wish to pursue a career in the above fields or who need to increase their knowledge in these areas.
Duties: 100% The incumbent will be responsible for teaching one or more courses in a manner consistent with the course content guide. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Essential This is a pooled position and applicants will be reviewed on an as needed basis. Acceptance into the pool does not constitute an offer of employment, nor does having worked one semester guarantee that a position will be available the following semester. Hiring decisions are made on a semester-by-semester basis according to the needs of that semester's schedule. Physics / AstronomyTypical Education or Training:The successful candidate will have at least a BA/ BS in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Physics / Astronomy or closely related field.Preferred:
A MA/MS in Biology, Chemistry, Geology or Physics/Astronomy or a related field
